The House in June

The next stage was to "erect" scaffolding so beams could be added, and walls constructed. The favoured material here is a wood that is covered in layers and layers of paper-like bark that peels off and flaps and waves in the wind. The core is quite dense and hard and it is light and flexible. Once this forest of wood was in place the wooden boxes that would form the beams were constructed. and then the walls were built.

At the end of the house we extended the wall out to enclose our plot of land and began work to change the ditch from a muddy mess to a concrete channel.
